Powerful storms washes away wheelie bins when they battered a village in France - turning roads into raging muddy rivers.

The deluge surged through the Feyzin commune in Lyon City on August 17, with strong currents sweeping away wheelie bins and debris.

The downpours across the country came following a recent heatwave. Weather group Meteo France measured one month's worth of rain in a single hour. The meteorological station on the Eiffel Tower in Paris recorded wind speeds of up to 65 miles per hour.
