The Hindu devotees celebrate Janmashtami with zeal and passion in Northern India

People in Patna on Friday celebrated Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, by holding a number of religious events at homes, temples, schools, and private organizations.

According to the footage At Maharana Pratap Bhawan, Krishna devotees re-enacted the life of the Lord from his birth to his later years using small child and adults as actors much to the delight of the attendees. This also included hymns and religious songs glorifying the mystic of Krishna - the playful, naughty boy growing up as a child to his lighter and serious sides of his life in later years.

A similar program was organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall where thousands of devotees gathered to see the 'Krishna Leela' performed by artists brought in from various parts of the country.

Heavy crowd was also seen throughout the day at Mahavir Temple outside Patna Junction as hundreds of devotees took part in the prayers and evening '

Despite dark cloud looming throughout the day and sporadic rain drenching the state capital, devotees were seen rushing to various temples to offer prayers to Lord Krishna.
