Supporters of Imran Khan gathered at Bani Gala, the former Pakistani Prime Minister's residence in Islamabad, to oppose his arrest. The police have charged Khan under anti-terror laws.

The former Prime Minister is a strong critic of the new government. The charges come following his threats and accusations that the judiciary and the police detained and tortured his close aide. He made these claims during a public rally in Islamabad on August 20.

Since he lost a no-confidence vote in April, Khan has been the mastermind of anti-government protests in Pakistan.
