A huge python stuck inside a narrow water pipe was rescued in Thailand.

The 10ft long snake was spotted struggling to pull itself out of the blue PVC pipe next to a market in Nonthaburi province on August 21.

Shocked stall owners called the animal rescuers who smashed the concrete sewer to take the pipe out where the serpennt was stuck.

Footage shows seven rescuers and vendors pulling the python out of the pipe.

A vendor said: ‘We noticed the water isn't flowing and then comes out a snake's head. It had been trying to come out but it appeared stuck so we called the rescuers for help.'

The python's head and tail were poking out from the pipe while its body remained stuck in the center.

The group first broke the concrete sewer using a hammer but after repeatedly smashing on the structure.

Rescue volunteers and locals helped each other break the pipe and even pulled the snake out with their bare hands but to no avail.

The team had to use a cutting tool before successfully releasing the snake. It was unhurt and kept in a sack before it freed to the wild.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
