A hero pet cat alerted a family when a wild cobra slithered into their home while they were sleeping.

The feline named Lumbia reportedly made loud noises to wake his owners up when she spotted the reptile in their bedroom in Phetchabun province, Thailand on June 16.

Her owners thought a thief had entered their home but saw the snake crawling ten feet away from them inside the mosquito net.

The family rushed out of their home and called the animal rescuers for help who caught the snake.

Owner May Napassana said: ‘I woke up because of the cat's sound and shockingly found it staring at the cobra in the mosquito net.'

When the officer reached the house, he found the cat still staring at the cobra.

Volunteers used a pole to secure the cobra by its neck and placed inside a sack to be released later. No one was reported hurt in the incident.
