Chinese woman uses rope to hoist takeaways up to 24th floor as lift stops working
A woman used a rope to lifts takeaway up to her flat on the 24th floor as the elevator stopped working due to a power cut caused by the high temperatures in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Guang'an in Sichuan Province on August 19 shows a woman named Li using a long rope to lift the food she ordered from the ground floor to the 24th floor.
Li said to Sichuan Television that due to the high temperatures, their residential community planned to cut off the power from 6 pm. So Li ordered the food at around 4 pm, but the power was cut at 5 pm.
Since Li was afraid the delivery man would suffer sunstroke if he climbed up the stairs to the 24th floor, she used a long rope to lift the takeaways up.
It took her more than an hour to lift the food up.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
