People celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day in London's Downing Street on August 24. The day also marks six months since the beginning of Russia's invasion.

Downing Street, London, UK. 26 August 2022. Ukrainians are celebrating the 31st anniversary of Ukraine's Independence today. And today, six months since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian aggressor. Both happiness and grief are intertwined on this day in every Ukrainian heart.
This is a people who know better than anyone the price of freedom in today's convenient world. We watch every week how Ukrainians go to rallies in the center of London and assure the whole world that they will win.
The British extended a helping hand to the Ukrainians from the first days of the full-scale invasion and continue to look into their eyes with understanding and support every day. Thousands of families in Great Britain have opened their doors to women and children from Ukraine. But the insidious war continues, people who defend freedom continue to die every day, or is it not a phenomenon on the European continent? Ukrainians demand more weapons for defense from partner countries, an embargo on oil and gas from Russia, compliance with the rights and norms of war from the Red Cross and the United Nations, where prisoners of war and medics are protected.
An entire generation of the Ukrainian nation will never forget what a siren of alarm is. But evil must be overcome, as the Ukrainians say: "Death to the enemies!"
Today, we have a common enemy that destroys the freedom and independence of a free state. Together with Ukrainians, we destroy evil and celebrate Independence.
