This is the dramatic moment tropical storm Ma-On - which has killed at least three people - washed away a house in the Philippines.

The deluge came from a nearby river which burst its banks due to heavy rain flowing down from mountains during rainstorms in Sarangani province on Monday afternoon August 22.

Resident Michelle Tabuada recorded the extreme weather while locals scrambled to save harvested copra from the building.

She said: ' We were very scared. We thought the situation was under control but suddenly the flood beame stronger.

'There were no casualties in the flood where we were, only the animals and crops that were swept away by the flood.'

Tropical storm Ma-Onm, which is currently headed towards south-eastern China, has so far caused three deaths in the Philippines, the country's disaster agency reported.

Two people were confirmed dead after being hit by a fallen tree in mountainous northern provinces of Kalinga and Cagayan, while one is believed t have drowned in eastern Camarines Sur province.
