I work as a Nurse and wanted to share this information, of course this is not a reliable scientific confirmatory diagnostic test.
However, it is extremely interesting! Place about 1ml of fluid on a gauze pad. As the fluid begins to spear you will begging to notice a yellow halo around the perimeter of the red fluid. Blood and cerebral spinal fluid are separating!
It was confirmed by the lab that this patient was leaking CSF. I can not add the lab results as it would be a breach of HIPAA.
