A variety of different sailing craft took part in the Isle of Sheppey's very own 'Round the Island Race' off Kent, UK on Sunday (August 28).

The endurance sailing race held since 1959 is open to sailing dinghies, catamarans & sailboards, plus this year for the first time the new sport of wing foiling.

The event organised by Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club at Sheerness is nearly 40-mile clockwise circumnavigation of the island including sea, river and estuary sailing with tidal conditions.

Nearly 50 craft took part with the fastest time of 2 hours 32 minutes recorded by a Dart 18 catamaran, which also won the event overall on handicap.

Footage shows competitors during the four staggered morning starts, followed by some of the first to finish.
