Slipped past paying fare: Snake rescued from public bus in southern India
A six-feet long cobra, that had that left the passengers panicking in a public bus, was rescued in southern India's Karnataka last month.
The incident took place near Sidlaghatta town of Chilkaballapur district on August 27.
Video showed the man, who rescued the snake, holding a rod in one hand and the tail of the cobra in another. Identified as local snake catcher Prithvi Raj C N, he was trying his best to pull out the snake from the bus. After a long struggle, he succeeded in doing so.
According to reports, the bus started from Chilkaballapur on Saturday. A passenger spotted the snake under his seat and alerted the conductor about it.
The driver immediately stopped the bus and asked passengers to vacate the vehicle without panicking. Both driver and conductor immediately informed the officials about the incident and Prithvi Raj, a local snake catcher, came to the spot and rescued the reptile.
