This is the moment a police officer saves a ticket inspector after he lost his balance and almost fell on a train track on which a moving train was moving.

The incident happened at Ranchi station, eastern India's Jharkhand, on August 31.

CCTV footage captured the images of the rescue from when the ticket inspector, Ram Kishor Jha, is trying to get on the moving train to when people bring him to safety.

The man was provided first aid and is now well.

A vigilant cop came to the rescue of a ticket inspector, who lost his footing and fell while getting on a moving train in the eastern India's Jharkhand.

The incident happened at platform number one of Ranchi station in the eponymous district on August 31.

CCTV footage captured the whole episode where the ticket inspector, identified as Ram Kishor Jha, was trying to get on the moving train (no 18622). It seemed he had boarded the vehicle before he lost his footing as he slipped and fell directly into the space between the train and the platform. It was a dangerous place to be, especially with the train moving as Jha could have even lost his life by falling into the gap completely.

But the massive tragedy was prevented by the on-duty Railway Protection Force (RPF) cop, who rushed and pulled Jha away from the train. Some more cops and other people gathered in the area and Jha slowly came back on his feet and was seen bending down, probably in pain later on.

It was learnt that he was provided first aid and sent back home. He is learnt to be in a healthy condition now.
