A group of locals who got trapped by the side of a river, were rescued by officials after heavy rainfall flooded western India's Maharashtra.

The incident took place in the Saraswati river in Nashik district on September 1.

Visuals showed the rescued people sitting in the bucket as well as inside the excavator which was commuting on a completely inundated road.

According to reports, Maharashtra’s Nashik was lashed by heavy rains, triggering a surge in water levels in several rivers.
