Officials in Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan, attempted a precarious rescue attempt as they raft into fast-flowing floodwater on August 31.

According to Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the death toll has surpassed 1,200 and more rain has been forecasted in the next few days.
