A journalist managed to get access to the radioactive city of Pripyat, Ukraine.

Pripyat was a satellite town of Chernobyl before the nuclear accident turned it into a ghost town on April 26, 1986.

The residents had to leave their homes in a matter of hours, with minimal belonging, to be evacuated to a safe place. Life circa 1986 was well preserved in the empty city until the 2022 Russian invasion.

In the video, two toilet seats are shown, allegedly looted from apartments with some of the highest levels of radiation.

A very friendly fox stands in the middle of the road asking for food or attention and came quite close to the car when our crew stopped. It then sneezed and ran on its merry way.

Chornobyl Alienation Zone has turned into a "radioactive paradise" for wildlife more than 30 years ago.

On February 24, 2022, Russian tanks entered the Alienation Zone, raising radioactive dust and increasing the radiation in the area.

In late March, the Russian troops retreated from the plant. The plant does not generate energy but still presents high risk.
