Female thieves steal USD 1,000.93 from man's bag in central India, arrested

Three female thieves were caught stealing Rs 80,000 (USD 1,000.93) from a man's bag outside of an ATM in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident happened in the Tikamgarh district of the state on September 2.

Visuals showed the three women outside of the ATM by the side of the road. While two of them stood and later walked away, the third lady sat there and was seen taking out money from the man's bag. Later, she also gets up and walks away.

According to a report, the matter came to light when the elderly man filed a complaint with the police. He stated that out of a total of Rs 98,000 (USD 1,226.89), Rs 80,000 (USD 1,000.93) was stolen. The police, based on the available CCTV footage, found the culprits and arrested all three of them. They reportedly used a razor to cut the bag and take out the money.

The elderly man had taken out money from a person named Narayan Das' account in the Central Bank after which this incident happened. It was learnt that the police activated its sources and informers and were able to nab these women on September 6. Upon interrogation, it was revealed that these three ladies were from the Lalitpur district of northern India's Uttar Pradesh.
