I came across this hornets nest in the corner of a tropical garden in Phang Khon, Sakon Nakhon, Thailand. The hornets were attempting to keep their nest cool by flapping their wings at high speed. They flapped so fast, that with the naked eye I saw no movement at all. It was only when I view it on the video that I could see the wings flapping. I was scared approaching the nest, because i could get into serious trouble if they perceived me as a threat. A local dog that I knew from when he was a puppy tragically died to to hornet stings.
