This is the sticky moment motorists struggled through a muddy dirt road after heavy rain battered Cambodia.

Cars, vans and trucks negotiated the quagmire in Kampot province following monsoon storms on September 3.

Footage shows the road marred with sunken tire tracks as the vehicles navigated the unpaved path.

Driver Gao Nanwen, who was headed to work at the time, said: 'I hope nobody else uses this route. The road was horrible. I was stuck for hours.'

Cambodia and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.

On Thursday, September 7, The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology in Cambodia, issued flash flood warnings for coming week.
