A hapless pet dog stuck between the metal railings of a fence was rescued in Thailand.

The owner found the creature crying while trapped in the garage fence in Trat province on September 7 around midnight.

The Sawang Boon Helping Dharma Association rescue team arrived at the property in the morning and took the dog out using power-cutting tools.

Footage shows volunteers checking on the exhausted dog before using a large cutter to break through the metal.

Kalong Phanomchot, 49, the house owner, said: ‘I went outside and heard the dog wimpering. It was stuck and couldn't escape from that position.'

After five minutes, the animal rescue team freed the dog, which ran away afterwards. The house owner left a bowl of food and water in the area in case the dog was hungry.
