Shocked camper unwittingly sleeps next to venomous cobra inside her tent all night
This shocked camper was lucky to escape alive after sleeping all night next to a venomous COBRA that had snuck into her tent.
Stucco artist Aomchai Niyomsin and her boyfriend Em Niyomsin found the baby snake while folding blankets inside their temporary lodging outside a temple in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand on September 1.
The pair had been commissioned to complete a giant holy serpent statue at the house of worship and had been staying there for work when they were rattled by the tiny serpent while packing up their belongings.
Footage shows a terrified Aomchai prodding the deadly creature with a broomstick. It had been hiding under her bag, but flared its hood and lunged at the plasterers when it was disturbed.
Luckily, Aomchai managed to catch the snake without incident, later freeing it to the wild.
Despite her brush with death, the shaken woman chose to look at the positive side of the incident.
She said: 'We have been staying here for weeks. I'm surprised the cobra showed up last night.
‘My boyfriend and I believe that the snake could be the holy snake spirit trying to thank us.'
Cobras are one of the world's deadliest snake and pack enough venom in a single bite to kill an adult human within a few hours.
