This is the shocking moment dozens of bikers invaded a government-run gas station, performing stunts before making off with stolen fuel in Argentina.

The mob of around 60 riders were filmed crowding into the YPF gas station in the town of Bernal in Buenos Aires at 3 am local time on September 3.

Security footage shows the gang swarming the pumps to fill up their fuel tanks while others in the group did wheelies across the parking lot. Alarmed customers fled the scene, but some of them were trapped by the rampaging thugs who blocked off the exit.

Local media reported that the pump attendants made six attempts to call the police station five blocks away, but officers were only dispatched after the bikers had escaped without paying.

It is unclear how much money was lost in the raid.

Buenos Aires congressman Cristian Ritondo, citing the incident, has slammed governor Axel Kicillof for the alleged deterioration of security in the province.

He said: 'The flash mob attack piranha is a perfect picture of the decomposition of the Province: 60 motorcyclists stealing and mocking themselves in front of the cameras.

'During my tenure as Buenos Aires minister of security, we multiplied the operations, seized more than 30,000 motorcycles and also promoted the law against motorcycles.

'When there is a political decision, there are no excuses.'
