Frassanito beach in Salento, Puglia, Italy. Shelf Cloud: unusual phenomenon.
Sunday early afternoon. Suddenly the sky turns grey, announcing a thunderstorm. In the hinterland (few kilometres away) I could feel and see, from the clouds, it was already happening. So, I was expecting the same to occur at the beach. It just didn't. Instead this beautiful Shelf Cloud appeared. It looked like a long bridge between Salento and Albania, which is just in front of us. This kind of phenomenon was unusual here, but with the climate change, in the last years we have been facing these meteorological events and also tornadoes.
