Londoners pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen in the pouring rain outside Buckingham Palace late into the evening
Royal-family loving Londoners came together outside Buckingham Palace bearing flags and Union Jack umbrellas to light candles and lay flowers outside Buckingham Palace's gates after the Queen's death was officially announced during early evening (Sept 8), and her glorious 70-year-long reign came to an end.
Black cab drivers lined the Mall to pay their respects to the Queen as people gathered round soaking up the atmosphere.
Flowers were more or less sold out in Victoria Station as members of the public bought dozens of bunches to leave for the much-respected late-monarch, with more expected over the next ten days of mourning.
