A hapless baby deer had to be rescued twice after being stuck in a net, and a saw horse only moments later in Michigan.

The foraging buck raided a garden to find food but had its limbs caught in an old net next to plant boxes in Ann Arbor on September 7.

A resident spotted it collapsed on the ground while struggling to pull its legs, so local police were called to help.

The baby deer was immediately released from the net after the responding cop cut it off with scissors. Still, the nervous creature immediately ran into trouble minutes later when its antlers were stuck in a nearby saw horse.

Ann Arbor City Police Department said in a statement: ‘At around 8:25 a.m., we received a call about a deer that had become tangled in some netting and was stuck in a resident's back yard.

‘Officer Dattolo was able to calmly approach the deer and cut it free from the sports netting...before again freeing it from a saw horse.'

The deer reportedly dashed out of the property and returned to the woods.
