Large planes have dumped fire retardant on a massive wildfire in Montana this week, in a bid to get the blaze under control.

The footage filmed on September 6 shows a plane flying over forested mountains, releasing a huge dump of what looks like red powder onto the trees.

The Arrastra fire started on the west end of the Lincoln Ranger District in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest.

The fire was first reported on Tuesday, September 6 and a Red flag warning was issued as of Wednesday, September 7, due to the current hot, dry, and dangerous conditions.
