Homes swept away as Typhoon Inday brings heavy rain to the Philippines

Footage shows homes being washed away by a raging river as Typhoon Inday brought heavy rain and flash floods to the Philippines.

The structure was dragged from the riverbanks by the surging muddy torrents amid pounding tropical rain in the Talamban area of Cebu City on Friday afternoon September 9.

A number of other homes caught in the overflow from when the river burst its banks were also flooded and later pulled into the deluge. There were no reported casualties from the incidents.

Inday has strengthened from a severe tropical storm into a typhoon as it moved across the Philippine Sea on Saturday morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said its packing maximum sustained winds increased of 120 km/h.
