Man’s mouth swells to double its size after live hornet eating challenge goes wrong
A man’s mouth swelled dramatically after attempting to eat two live hornets in southwest China.
Video filmed in the city of Anshun in Guizhou Province on September 2 shows a man named Wang Can challenging eating two live hornets in front of a camera.
Wang said in the video: "My name is Wang Can. I like doing things for nothing. My videos don’t have enough likes recently so I will perform eating live hornets. Although I am a bit scared, I will still do it."
Wang then showed the camera that the hornets were alive before putting them into his mouth, causing him to immediately spit them out.
In another video, Wang's mouth appeared severely swollen. He was heard saying: "The hornets deserve their reputations. My mouth is hurt badly."
Wang reportedly went to the local clinic and he has recovered already.
Wang's social media account was blocked temporarily due to the incident and he suggested people do not risk their own lives to attract attention.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
