A woman revealed she accidentally flooded her house after attempting a TikTok hack to unblock her toilet – leaving viewers in hysterics with the results.

Paula Abarca Rodríguez, 25, from Mexico City, was trying to unclog her toilet by using sticky tape to suction out the blockage – a trick she had learned on the app.

Sadly, the top tip proved to be a flop – and instead left Paula with a flooded bathroom covered in dirty water.

To add insult to injury, it took Paula more than three hours to clean the mess and she even needed to get professional help.

In a clip posted on TikTok – which has more than 290,000 views and 50,000 likes – Paula attempts the hack.

With a roll of tape, she covers her toilet lid and then begins pushing down on the sticky plastic cover.

The up-and-down motion Paula used was meant to suction out any blockage, however it proved to be a huge fail, and it wasn't long before water began seeping from the toilet.

One viewer joked: "If that didn't work, we don't have to change the technique, we have to change the toilet."

"The truth is that this trick does work, but your bathroom is another level of clogging, better call the police," said another user.

Someone else wrote: "Legend has it that many years ago, there were people dedicated to these problems; plumbers they called them and they could be hired by phone."

"Hahahahaha sorry I laughed," wrote one viewer.

Someone else said: "I came looking for copper and found gold."

"THE BAG WITH YOUR STUFF SISTER NOOOO," another shocked viewer said.

Paula’s household woes started when her dog went to toilet inside her apartment, and she cleaned it up with toilet paper.

But after discarding the paper in the toilet, it became clogged and even drain cleaner didn’t help.

"I did a TikTok search on how to unblock my toilet it and I found a tutorial where I could unblock it with tape,” Paula told NeedToKnow.online.

“I tried and failed. It was not sealed well and too much water came out.”
