A monitor lizard, that had spread panic among the people, was rescued from the premises of a bank in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident happened in the Sagar district on September 10.

Visuals showed Akeel Baba, who is known for catching poisonous animals, at work, trying to catch the monitor lizard. He repeatedly struck a portion of a wall on a roadside temple to bring out of the reptile. However it wasn't an easy task. He had to lay a trap with a rope stuck to an adjacent pole and then catch the animal. He eventually succeeded in doing so.

The reptile, whose head was stuck to a rope, was held by its tail by Akeel Baba. The animal struggled to let go but he wasn't successful. According to a report, the monitor lizard had come out of its cavity in front of the bank employees when they were at work.

The senior officers of the organisation got in touch with Akeel Baba, who rushed to the spot to capture the animal.

Despite it being caught, there are reports of another such lizard in the area which is yet to get caught.
