Waitress accidentally drops boiling soup over customers in Chinese restaurant
A waitress accidentally dropped hot soup over customers in a restaurant in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Jinhua in Zhejiang Province on September 8 shows a pot of hot soup suddenly slipping out of a waitress's hand when she was about to put it onto a table.
The hot soup was then poured over a woman named Zheng and her 3-year-old son.
The boy was sent to hospital for treatment.
The boy's stomach, thighs, arms and forehead all had scald marks and the doctor diagnosed the burns as second-degree scalds.
Zheng asked for compensation from the restaurant but the owner blamed the waitress for the incident and did not want to pay for the boy's treatment.
However, the waitress was only willing to compensate 2,000 yuan (£246.39).
The shop's employee suggested going through the judicial procedure about the compensation issue.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
