Staff member injured after package detonated at Northeastern University in Boston
A 45-year-old staff member of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, was injured when a package delivered to the campus detonated while it was being opened. A bomb squad and emergency services immediately rushed to the site and the building was evacuated.
This footage shows police officers and cars at the scene of the incident. The clip also features images of young people standing outside Northeastern University.
Boston Police Superintendent Felipe Colon said that the staff member suffered hand injuries.
CNN has reported that the package contained "a rambling note that criticized Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and the relationship between academic institutions and the developers of virtual reality".
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. It's not clear how the package arrived at the campus.
