Python bites woman's FOOT as she walks through office
This is the terrifying moment a python bit a woman's FOOT as she walked through the office.
CCTV shows the killer snake leaping out from under a trolley as the admin worker walked through a hall in a government department in Bangkok, Thailand on September 12.
The beast sank its fangs into her foot before aggressively rearing up at her. Shocked colleagues backed off as she desperately tried to kick away the snake, which was clinging to her limb.
The woman was seen wriggling in pain as she quickly ran away from the scene of the attack inside the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. Pictures taken after showed the deep wound on her foot.
A government spokesman said: ‘The woman who was attacked by the python worked for the Department of Sericulture and only came to the building to visit a friend. She is now safe and has returned to her home in Khon Kaen province.
‘We would like to confirm that it is unlikely that the snake belongs to the department nor was it brought to the wildlife clinic.
'We follow strict measures where wild animals delivered to the department have to be tightly sealed in their compartment.'
Officials believe that the python emerged from outside before slithering into the building as there are a much higher number of snakes in the city during the rainy season.
The front of the office building also has a number of water features such as a pond and fountain which the snake might have been lurking inside, they added.
Shockingly, firemen receive emergency calls every 15 minutes during the rainy seasons from May to November as heavy rain and floods flush the snakes from their hiding places.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
