An online gamer has spent more than 30,000 USD (26,000 GBP) building an awesome spaceship-themed man cave.

Tinnakorn Sriwichai, 31, recreated the cockpit of the fictional spacecraft C2 Hercules from the game 'Star Citizen' in his room in Chonburi province, eastern Thailand. He paid around 20,000 USD just for the interiors and computers.

To make it more realistic, the game streamer and YouTuber then installed three 65-inch LED tv screens worth 4,400 USD on the walls that display a mesmerizing view from outer space overlooking the Earth.

The outer hallway leading to the game room was modelled from the iconic train bogie of the movie Snowpiercer with automatic doors worth 1,700 USD and customizable lights that could be adjusted using a mobile phone app worth 860 USD.

Gamer Tinnakorn, or Bankii to his YouTube followers, said: ‘The inspiration came from a space-themed game called Star Citizen. I bought a spaceship and started liking a Crusader Industries ship named The C2 Hercules. This ship's cockpit looks exactly like this one I'm in from the Star Citizen game.

‘The carriage was modelled from Snowpiercer. This room took about three months to complete.

‘After the design has been approved. I spent about 400,000 THB for the structure, including everything. The total is more than one million THB.'

Bankii added he worked with different architects, revising the design several times before finally achieving the space shuttle look in his workroom, where he spends most of his time.

He said: ‘In one day, I spend about 12 hours here. I work and play games. Mainly it is for work, and I play games for about three to four hours. Some of the cool features in this room are the storage cabinet which looks exactly like an aircraft.'

The avid gamer showed off his realistic rig with imported parts and materials from Europe.

He said: ‘The screen in the front is a very realistic gaming monitor. And the lights, all the lights inside this spaceship can be controlled via phone.

‘The controller I ordered from Europe. It is a very realistic controller, and it gives a feel of actually flying a plane or a spaceship. It's from VIRPIL Controls.

‘It is very cool as the feeling when you press different buttons, here it gives a feeling like you're flying a real spaceship. This one is 65,000 THB.'

But beyond aesthetics, his gaming rig is functional in different player modes. For playing, he uses the 9-inch Samsung CJ890 curved display worth 860 USD and joystick-compatible flight controls and steering worth 1,900 USD. If ever he becomes hungry, he has a small pantry built in the corner for refreshments worth 1,400 USD.

He said: ‘It's like it has been taken from a spaceship. And what you see right here can be set up and used on different games that support a joystick.

‘Can you see the screen up here? The computer must be very powerful. I put up the specification myself. It is an intel core i9 and one 3090 video graphic card.

‘The RAM is 64 GB and I spend 200,000 THB just for the computer. It's different because it feels like you're actually inside a spaceship.

'It feels like you're in outer space and makes you don't feel like leaving the room and forget about the outside world.'

After the successful renovation of his man cave, the gamer thinks of renovating other parts of his house to match the spaceship theme.

He said: ‘In the future, I think I will renovate the lounge and the living room to look like a spaceship too, like a capsule bedroom and a spaceship kitchen.

‘If the future becomes advance enough, I would like to install a zero gravity simulator, but that will be difficult.'
