This is the moment a wild bear being hand-fed by humans turns down fruit in favour of cooked meat.

Britt Senecal, 45, was on holiday in a cabin in the woods in Greentown, Pennsylvania, US, with family when they had an unexpected visitor.

Amazing footage captured the grizzly – known locally as Baldy’s son – calmly wander over to Britt’s cabin apparently to the sound of rustling food packets.

Despite ignoring a piece of fruit thrown to him, the bear is quick to scoff down a piece of Bologna meat thrown from another resident before wandering off again.

Britt, from Las Vegas, US, said: “We were surprised but enjoyed his visit. We really felt a calmness about him so we didn't worry about him coming so close.

“They call him Baldy's son because his father was an old, bald bear that visited and the locals watched over him.

“This bear used to come around with Baldy so he's been integrated with the locals as a friend and neighbour.

“He has been visiting the for a few years that I know of. He's been pretty relaxed as a neighbour to them and they haven't had any issues with him being aggressive, but they also respect his bubble.

“He was with us for about five minutes. Yes he's wild but he's old and the locals feed him and watch out for him, he's come to know the locals and visits them daily.”
