Last week for Army National Guard members to distribute bottled water in Jackson, MS
Jackson, MS water crises still continues today September 15, 2022 as the city is in week 3 of this crisis.
The Mississippi Department of Health has lifted the boil water notice for the entire city as of today but citizens of Jackson are still lining up for water. Lines still form at Metro Center Mall as members of the National Guard hand out bottled water from 9am-6:30pm. The MEMA distribution sites will continue to hand out water until this weekend; The state will close down all distribution sites around Jackson this Saturday at 6:30pm.
This crisis comes after recent flood waters caused the O.B. Curtis water treatment plant to fail the last week of August 2022.
