One killed in a 13-vehicle crash on an Indonesian toll road.

Footage from September 18 at KM 253A, Brebes Regency, Central Java province, shows the moment when the accident had just occurred.

Many cars were damaged by crashing into each other, meanwhile thick gray smoke covered the scene.

Central Java Police Public Relations Commissioner Iqbal Alqudusy said the accident was allegedly triggered by thick smoke caused by burning weeds on the edge of the toll road.

"Initial reports stated that the smoke from the burning caused the driver's visibility to be blocked, resulting in a series of accidents," Alqudusy added.

According to Commissioner Alqudusy, all the cars involved in the accident were traveling in the same direction. One died and dozens of the injured were taken to hospital.
