This is the moment a farmer wrangles a large python he found lying in his henhouse in Thailand.

The shocked owner, Ice Chumon, spotted the creature while feeding his livestock in the coop in Chonburi province on July 25. It had reportedly eaten one chicken and was resting before gorging itself on more of the fowl.

Video shows how Ice calmly grabs the snake by its neck with one ungloved hand as the birds around clucked in alarm. He then hauls the reptile - its stomach still bulging from its last meal - out of a cage, and places it inside a sack.

The python is believed to have taken shelter inside the henhouse after a storm, and found itself surrounded with meaty prey to feast on.

Ice said: 'Pythons are not venomous, but without relevant experience, you should not catch them with your bare hands.

'This python ate one chicken and killed 10 others. Snakes always show up in my chicken coop after a heavy rainfall.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
