Cars struggled through flooded roads caused by Typhoon Nanmadol, which slammed into Japan on Sunday evening.

Footage shows vehicles crossing the submerged highway in the Nakamachi area of Machida, Tokyo on September 19 following continuous downpours.

The filmer said: 'After only 10 minutes of rainfall, the highway was submerged in rainwater. But the flooding doesn't last very long.'

Nanmadol made landfall in Japan on September 18, triggering landslides, power outages, and the evacuation of millions.

Local media reported that at least two people have been killed as the typhoon tracked northeast, with about 70 others injured.
