Traditional Siamese crafts were shown off at a cultural event in Thailand.

Footage shows skilful craftsmen demonstrating weaving and jewellery-making techniques at the 13th annual Identity of Siam Fair & Crafts in Bangkok on September 11. It was held at the BITEC arena in the Bang Na area of the city.

Most of the beautiful crafts on display date back hundreds of years to when the country was still known as Siam.

Pornpol Ekataporn, Acting Director of Thailand Art and Craft Advertising Foundation (Community Organization) said the event showed that local business owners are ready to sell their wares internationally.

He said: 'The vital mission of the event is to stimulate Thai business people to lead. A large range of crafts and handicrafts are traded and can now open up additional overseas marketplaces as a result of business matching arrangements by consumers.'
