A homeowner in Novogorod, Russia, managed to detain a knife-wielding robber just by using a long net.

Footage captured by a security camera on September 16 shows the thief had climbed into the passenger seat in the homeowner's vehicle.

The resident then calmly walked back into the building and grabbed a net which he used to disarm and detain the robber.

The robber was then handed over to the police.

A man, armed with a knife, climbed into the passenger compartment of someone else's car and took 40,000 rubles from there. The owner of the money was against and the robber, who was not very confident on his feet, departed with what was at hand - a net.

The disarmed robber was handed over to the police.
