A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck about 37 kilometers southeast of Aquila in Michoacan, western Mexico on Monday, September 19, leaving at least one person dead, with shaking reported as far away as Mexico City.

A tsunami warning was issued immediately after the quake, but the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says the tsunami threat has now largely passed.

This video shows people huddled together on a platform in the Line 5 Metro in Mexico City after the quake struck.
