Massive LGBTIQ+ artwork Amsterdam Rainbow Dress comes to Australia for first time
The LGBTIQ+ artwork Amsterdam Rainbow Dress has come to Australia for the first time.
The living work of art is made of the national flags of the 71 countries where being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community is punishable by law with imprisonment, torture, or the death penalty.
Sydney becomes the first Australian state to welcome the dress, as the city gears up to host the major LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Conference as part of Sydney WorldPride 2023.
The dress travels the world to encourage debate and awareness about LGBTQIA+ human rights issues. The dress is over 3.5 m in height and has a massive 16 m (52 ft) diameter.
