Astonishing survival of man who fell 100ft onto steel bar in China
This is the moment a construction worker miraculously survives after falling 100ft onto a steel spike that went right through his back.
The incident occurred this week on a construction site in Luohe, in Henan Province, central China, at the unnamed man's place of work.
The man was reportedly doing his everyday job standing atop a 30-metre floor when he accidentally fell, and a thick metal bar pierced his back.
In the footage released by the Luohe Fire Department, firefighters can be seen carefully cutting through the steel bar as the poor man lets out muffled screams of pain.
After reportedly consulting with the medical staff on the scene to ensure that no secondary injury would be caused to the man, the firemen used a steel quick-breaker. They were able to cut him free in under a minute.
The fire personnel let the medics take over and transport him to a hospital for further treatment, according to local media, having freed the man from the piece of metal.
