This is the shocking moment a rider carrying rubbish bags skidded across the road while chasing after a garbage truck in Taiwan.

The motorist had reportedly missed the time for his trash to be collected by the truck and hopped onto his vehicle to follow it in Taipei City on September 21.

He is seen trying to lob the garbage-filled containers towards the bins on the back of the vehicle but lost his balance and fell over. The bags also ripped, littering the road with trash.

The garbage workers told local media: 'He was approaching our truck from the corner, but before he could come closer, the traffic light turned red.

'We slowed down so we wouldn't collide with the other cars. That's how he fell.'

Deng Songjun, chief of the city's Environmental Cleaning Management section, said: 'We urge you not to drive your motorbikes to follow us. The road is dangerous, and trying to throw your garbage while driving can endanger your life.'

Taiwan is a small independent island off the coast of China.
