A huge male lion in the Maasai Mara shaking off his mane after a heavy thunderstorm. Almost 2kg of water can gather in the thick mane of male lions.
There was a huge thunderstorm in the Maasai Mara one afternoon, and we this huge male lion shake off all the water from his mane a couple of times, so I had to time it right to capture this behaviour this time round. It was crazy to watch - the sound of the water leaving the mane was also something to really experience. All the water in and around the mane can weigh up to 2kg!
