A very rare video of Siligi, a cheetah from the Maasai Mara, Kenya who had 7 cubs in one litter. It's almost certainly never captured before in the wild for a cheetah to have 7 cubs!
This rare video is of a supermum cheetah in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. Her name is Siligi and she had 7 cubs in one litter. This is almost unheard of. We were extremely lucky to have spent over 2 hours with her and watching her look after all the cubs was so heartwarming. Cheetah cubs' survival rate is extremely low - only at about 10%, due to various factors like poaching, human/ wildlife conflict, and other predators. Unfortunately, just a few weeks after these videos were taken, Siligi lost all of her cubs in various incidents ranging from hyena attacks to lion predation.
