Russian riot police widened their crackdown on anti-war protests in Moscow to drag a middle-aged lady and two young women off the streets on Saturday 24 September.

The older lady was sitting at a bus stop when she was dragged on to a police van.

While it cannot be certain that she was waiting for a bus at the stop, where a police van was parked, she was alone and did not appear to be causing any trouble when she was hauled off.

In a separate case, two young woman seemingly walking down the street were hauled off to the police van during security forces' aggressive attempts to crush public opposition to the Ukraine war.

Bot incidents happened in the Chistye Prudy area.

The anti-war movement has been given new impetus by President Putin's order to draft another 300,000 people.

He claims they will be people with military experience but reports suggest that men without such experience are also being forced into the military and that rather than back-filling regular Russian troops sent to the front lines, they could be sent to the war zone too.
