Cyclists take on the North Downs in annual Hill Climb in Kent, UK

Over 40 amateur cyclists took part in a gruelling hill climb competition in Kent, UK this morning (September 25).

Hollingbourne Hill Climb is an annual fixture in the Kent cycling calendar near Maidstone in Kent organised by Wigmore Cycling Club and open to riders from other clubs, now in its 47th year.

It involves attempting to ascend Hollingbourne Hill as quickly as possible, which rises steeply over the North Downs, continuously increasing in gradient over its nearly 1-mile length, with an average gradient of 1 in 8.
