King tide season brings flooding to Florida

This drone footage shows flooding in Delray Beach and the Marina District, Florida, during king tide season.

Every fall, high tides strike the US coastline with a sunny day or nuisance flooding.

King tides occur because of a special alignment of the moon and sun which create higher than normal tides. Cities along the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean are usually impacted.

"The rise of sea level is making the flooding worse every year", said the filmer. "It will be interesting to see if king tides worsen the flooding from soon-to-be Hurricane Ian".
