This Indian sand artist has built a sculpture of the Earth's iconic landmarks for World Tourism Day (September 27).

Shri Sudam Pradhan made the artwork on Golden Beach in Puri, Odisha. The sculpture included the Eiffel Tower, the Christ the Redeemer statue, and Big Ben.

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Bhubaneswar Office has displayed Sand Art created by International Sand Artist Shri Sudam Pradhan at the Golden Beach, Puri on September 27th.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day-2022. The main purpose of celebrating World Tourism Day-2022 at the Golden Beach Puri by means of displaying Sand Art is to spread awareness about tourism among the people and appeal more to more people come to Odisha and specially Puri through tourism because tourism plays important rule in social, political and economic development.

World Tourism Day is celebrated each year on 27 September worldwide. It is the global observance day fostering awareness of tourism's social, cultural, political and economic value and the contribution that the sector can make towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals. The celebration of this day is very important to maintain brotherly relationship among the fraternity of Tourism and Tourism Stakeholders. It is the day to remember the importance of Tourism and focuses the development of Tourism.

The theme of World Tourism Day-2022 is “Rethinking Tourism”. From this theme it is vey clear that tourism is focussing on the future and it is an opportunity for everyone to rethink how we do tourism. This means putting people and planet first and bringing everyone from governments and businesses to local communities together around a shared vision for a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient sector.
